Our first year in high school can be summed up in two words . . .  A BLAST!!

We found everything new and interesting and settled in really fast, thanks to the help of the great teachers and “wunnerful” seniors.

Unfortunately, the political instability and civil unrest this year saw a major loss of valuable school time and lessons. As soon as school resumed, our teachers were ready to double and dish out the workload. Some teachers even taught us more than we were suppose to learn probably because they saw that we were capable, clever young people.

The World Children’s Day Celebrations was fun-filled, not to mention that WE tool home second prize overall. Two of our clan, Angela Kwon and Tydree Broadbridge, combines with four others in Form 3B to show off their artistic skills and, unexpectedly, won first prize in the CAINES MURAL PAINTING ON PEACE. Their fantastic and beautiful work will be displayed at the Nadi International Airport.

We, also, had our part of sporting achievements. Our friend Kavita Maharaj did us proud when she won her event at the Suva School Zone Meet. John Miller, represented the country at an international swimming meet in Homebush, Australia and was the sole male competitor at the secondary schools swimming carnival. Unfortunately our very talented basketball team was unable to participate because of the coup and following events. We were able to show off our talents in all areas, academic, arts and sports and are very proud of it!! We ain’t called 3A for nothing, ya know ! ! !

Sadly, two great friends and classmates left for greener pastures. Kapil Swamy left for the USA and Kavita Maharaj left for Australia. We hope they are both well and having a great time and wish them the very best in whatever they do and fore the future.

Finally, we all would like to thank our form teacher, Ms. Katafono, who has been supportive and helpful throughout the Year. We’d also like to thank all the subject teachers, for bearing with such a talented but noisy class. Extended thanks to everyone else; families, friends and our very loving parents. Last but not least, we thank ourselves for working together and making our first year in high school great fun.
