LIBRARY REPORT
The library collection has been computerised. This has made it easier for
retrieval of information as well as accessioning of all material into the
library.
New books have been purchased from Just Books, Media Marketing as well as from
Dymocks. Donated books were from Mrs Ali, Darold and Kristina Low and Patrick
Seeto and the British Embassy. The library collection has a very good variety of
both fiction and non-fiction books. The students have the advantage of the
computers that are in the library to enable them to type out projects as well as
for research using CDROM.
This year Library Week was held from the 8th to the 15th of September. The theme
for the week was “Books bring people together”. The students participated in
drawing posters based on the theme organised by the English Department. The
posters were later put on display in the library.
A library workshop for all the class librarians on "Basic Skills" was held on
Saturday July 21st. The students found the workshop very interesting and a good
learning experience.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Ali for her patience,
guidance and cooperation throughout the year. Thank you also to the staff for
their assistance and support.
I would also like to thank all the class librarians for their contribution in
ensuring that the library is up to the standard it is today. : Yogen, Claudia,
Alika, Roy, Vanessa, Elisabeth, Margaret, Siu, Reama, Jean, Jacinta and Sima
To all students sitting for external exams – my best wishes.
Mrs M Keni
Librarian.
