A Poem For Mrs. Taito

The first day of school

Nervous anticipation filled the air

We all thought you looked strict

Little did we know that behind

That façade of the Mistress of Discipline

Was a heart of pure gold

This year you were our form teacher

And took us for Maths

We joked & played, frustrated & frayed

Your nerves (we now regret)

If we had but known of your departure

We would have all moaned for your recapture

But as they say, if you value something

Set it free

So Mrs. Taito, we release you

With our prayers, hopes & anticipations

We will never forget you!

You guided us through a crisis

But when you leave, we will face anther

That is the insurmountable task to find

A teacher can fill this void

You will be out of sight

But never be out of our hearts & minds!

God bless you in your endeavours!

A big Vinaka Vakalevu,

Namaste, zai jian, la ma aulalum!

Au revóir & Bon voyage!

“Kau na tiko ga na vale nei Jiova

ena veisiga kecega ni noqu bula”
