Message from the Head Girl
Accepting the post of a prefect has been both a responsible and challenging role for each one of the twenty – two chosen for 2001. These positions have been a privilege and we would like to thank the school and teachers for their confidence in us.
Maintaining discipline and consistent and close communication with the students was emphasized this year, as I am sure has been emphasized in the past. However, achieving this was not easy. A weekly meeting between the prefects and the vice – principal, Mrs. Tevita, gave us the chance to discuss the students’ as well as our concerns. Through discussion and co-operation, we were able to find solutions to most of the issues raised.
Overall, the 2001 academic year has been a busy but worthwhile one for me. However challenging the role of a Head Girl has been, it was both an honorable opportunity and a boost of confidence.
The prefects and I would like to thank the principal, staff and students for their continuous support. I sincerely hope that we have lived up to individual expectations of the students, teachers and the school community.
To all future prefects of Yat Sen. Do your best to maintain as well as guard your privilege as leaders of the school.
