Yat Sen Student Council
The student council is an organisation in which is not only the voice of students but also a medium which channels youthful vitality in a meaningful and positive way that benefits the whole Yat Sen community. The Council has consistently performed to expectations and has an exceptional record from its interception to date.
2002 has been an explosive and exciting year in that it has witnessed unity, hard work, and enthusiasm in many situations and projects that the school has had. This year the Student Council is guided by Ms. L Katafono who replaced Mrs. Telai, a teacher who has been involved with the student council for a number of years.
One of the major achievements this year is our Talent Quest. It was held on the 20th of June at Civic Auditorium. This momentous event was a night which displayed the many diverse cultures and capabilities of our creative students.
Other various activities include the SAVES scheme, a continuation of the project piloted by Yat Sen and the first for Fiji. There are many other projects for example, teacher’s day and the schools social event in the pipe line which will surely eventuate in the following months.
