The year has been fast moving yet exciting and challenging for students and teachers due to the hype of activities in the school calendar and the 150th anniversary celebrations for the Chinese community in Fiji.

After filling the 2003 PMS report and signing the performance agreement for 2004, the teachers set out to achieve their objectives using their strategies and performance indicators. The department teachers attended the professional development seminar organized by CDU and also the Internal Assessment Workshop
AWARDS DAY
The FMA Awards Day was held at the Suva Civic Centre on the 27th of May this year to reward the high achievers in Mathematics. Raymond Chen (F4), Rui Cao (F6) and Tom Chen (F6) received prizes and certificates for their excellent performance in FMC.

In the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), a total of 141 students participated.

Raymond Chen (Y9) and (Y10) received a prize and a certificate with a $F63.32 bank draft in the intermediate division.
The Prudence Award is given to a student achieving the school’s highest number of consecutive correct answer. This Award was taken by Ho Kwo Yuen (Y8) in the junior division. Congratulation to all those who took part.
Year of Physics
The United Nations General assembly had declared 2005 as the International Year of Physics. The Physics Society of USP in coordination with UNESCO organized a Physics Workshop for form seven students. Our students took advantage of all the experiments set up for the day. The South Pacific Physics Society also organized a 2005 Senior Physics Quiz for the school. The results are as follows: Distinction 1, Credit 7, and Participation 12.
FIELD TRIPS
Form six Physics and Computing students went to the West for a two day field trip on the 7th and 8th of July. They visited the Fiji Meteorological Centre to observe the launch of the weather balloon and other information gathering equipment used in Environmental Physics. Computing students visited the FSC Information Centre and Airports Fiji Limited. I would like to thank the accompanying teachers Mr. S Kumar, Mr. N Sakimi, Madam Li, Mr. P Young, Mr. R Kumar, Mrs. M. Young and Mrs. M. Buimaiwai for giving their valuable time to the students.
Mr. S. Siga from the Technical Drawing department planned to take the form seven students for a tour to Walubay on Monday 24th of October
AUSTRALIAN COMPUTER QUIZ
The Australian computer quiz was held on Tuesday 17th May. A total of 37 computing students took part in this competition. The results are as follows:
